Ife Journal of Science (IJS) is now an Open Access Journal with (eISSN: 0794-4896) published by the Faculty of Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. The journal is managed by two Editors-in-Chief and accepts manuscripts from all aspects of basic and applied science broadly categorized as physical and biological sciences. This extends naturally into the applied areas of biochemistry, geology, microbiology, biotechnology, genetics, food chemistry, agriculture, medical and pharmaceutical sciences.

Shorter length manuscripts may be accepted as research notes while review articles on research topics and books are also welcome.

IJS has over the years maintained a steady growth and now stands as one of the top journals of Nigerian extraction.

Peer Review:
All submitted manuscripts are subject to a peer-review process. Each manuscript is sent to three reviewers and based on their recommendations the Editor-in-Chief makes a final decision.

Publication Frequency:
Three issues of the journal are published yearly (April, August and December). Manuscripts are reviewed as quickly as possible, and you should usually receive a first decision within 6–8 weeks of submission.
