Prof. Adesina resumes as Dean

Prof. Olufemi Adeyinka Adesina, who emerged recently as Dean-Elect of the Faculty of Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, resumes today August 1, 2023. In his inaugural address, he sought the assistance and support of all members of the Faculty as he assumes the position. He is a Professor of Mathematics.

Science-preneurship Exhibition

Sciencepreneurship Exhibition at the Biological Sciences Building by the students of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as Department of Zoology.
The Vice Dean, Dr. Olasunkanmi represented the Dean at the event. Other participants were Prof. O. Babalola (HoD of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), Prof. A. Adedeji (former Dean, Faculty of Science); Dr. Sowemimo (Acting HoD, Department of Zoology) among others.
The exhibition was coordinated by Prof. R. E. Okonji, Dr. (Mrs.) A. Z. Ayinla and Dr. I. J. Olawuni

Faculty of Science Quiz and Science Project 2023

Register your school to be part of the Quiz Competition and Science Project Exhibition Contest organized by the Faculty of Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
It is open only to senior secondary science students who are in SS2 in Nigeria. Schools are to express interest by registering ONLY three (3) representatives for the Quiz and Project Exhibition Contest. The name, passport photograph and admission number of each representative are required.
- The Quiz: There are a total of 60 online questions in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The representatives are expected to answer the questions as best and as quickly as they can and click the submit button.
- The Science Project: Schools will send to the organizer a science project/topic of interest for screening. Only schools with shortlisted topic/project will be asked to come and exhibit at the finals.
The finals for both competitions will be conducted at the campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State
The best three candidates or schools will receive mouth watering awards at the International Conference of the Faculty of Science coming up between 12th (arrival) to 15th (departure), June 2023. The best three science projects will be exhibited at the Opening Ceremony!!!

A New Dean Resumes

Prof. I. O. Adewale of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology resumes today 1st August, 2021 as the New Dean. He takes over from Prof. M. A. Eleruja of the Department of Physics and Physics Engineering who just completed a tenure from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2021.
Prof. I. O. Adewale has offered to serve as the Dean, Faculty of Science for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 Academic Sessions. He promises to contribute to the development of the Faculty by providing quality leadership and also consolidating the strands of excellence achieved so far by the Faculty.
Prof. Adewale has served at the Departmental, Faculty, University and External Levels (within and outside Nigeria) at various times before assuming this new position of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
The Faculty wishes him a successful tenure.
